E-Specimen is an abbreviation for the SPECIMEN COLLECTION OF PLANT PEST AND NATURAL ENEMIES IN MALAYSIA developed by the Plant Biosecurity Division (BBT) Department of Agriculture (DOA). All the information found in this system is from plant pest specimens and natural enemies (MSJ) collected from all over Peninsular Malaysia and stored in the database of the Plant Collection and Repository Section (SKORE) based on the requirements of International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs). This system is a platform to facilitate the efforts of the SKORE in order to record data on plant pests and MSJ found. In addition, the objective of this platform is to ensure the security and integrity of data and update in real-time in order to share information with stakeholders. The fact sheet information which includes information on pest control and plant pest management is also the result of cooperation from Plant Pest Diagnostics and Expertise Section (SDKPT) and the Plant Pest Management Section (SPPT) officers. The Database System for the SPECIMEN COLLECTION OF PLANT PEST AND NATURAL ENEMIES IN MALAYSIA will be a reference source for members of the Department, external agencies and the general public as well as members of the Plant Biosecurity Division (BBT), particularly for the preparation of Technical Document (TD) information and Pest Risk Analysis, PRA where the BBT is the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of Malaysia.
